FAMILY PICNIC HUGE SUCCESS

What a party!

The Tripp Lake Family Picnic held at the Tripp Lake Camp on August 18 was a great success by all measure. With over 100 adults and children in attendance, it was family fun for everyone, with activities centered around the beach area. Folks arrived by land and sea, bringing picnic lunches, potluck salads and desserts as well as tennis rackets, basketballs and bathing suits. Tours of the camp were given by several counselors who’d not yet returned home. TLIA provided paper goods, cold drinks and a big cake for dessert.

A special feature was an educational (and fun) ecology program for the kids. Mary Gilbertson, a volunteer with the Maine Conservation Corps, and her husband Brock, set up stations in a large circle, where the children learned conservation practices via games.

The event, planned by Paula Smith, Norm Zaniboni, Judy King, George and Ellie Kelley, Rich Sidle and Pierre and Ruth Desjardins, was intended for folks all around the lake to meet, relax or play. It was terrific! We thank this group and the owners/ directors of the Tripp Lake Camp, Jeff Konigsberg, Lesley Konigsberg Levy and Nancy McCann for their graciousness and hospitality. We hope to continue the tradition next year.
