Ladies, I call you to join our
group of fun lovers. This will be our second summer and we invite all
you ladies of the lake to relax, laugh, get silly and join our group.
All you need is a “red hat” decorated, of course, and something purple
(a t-shirt will do). I’ve even heard that two
of our members have purchased twin purple pant suits for the coming
season.
The
Red Hat Society is a group of women who are over 50 who get together for
the fun of it. There are groups all over the country. Younger women
are always invited to join, but they are required to wear a pink hat
with a lavender outfit to designate their youth. Last year we went out
for lunch and a cruise on Long Lake. All activities are dutch treat and
we don’t plan anything that’s too expensive. This year I’m proposing a
one-time dues of $3 to get us recognized as an official member of the
Red Hat Society…but that will be a group decision. Our first meeting
will be a planning session for this summer’s events.
Date: Thursday, July 1 at noon,
154 Jordan Shore Drive, Tel: 998-3276.
One
more thing…why don’t we all plant our window boxes or planters with red
and purple flowers, or hang a “red hat” on our doors? It’s all for the
“fun” of it.
