Super Raffle Underway

TLIA’S Super Raffle, its first fundraiser of the season, is underway. By now, each member should have received two raffle books costing $5 each. We urge you to buy both books yourselves or sell one of them to a friend or relative. Proceeds will help defray the $5000 which we must repay as part of Project 319.

We’ve some terrific prizes donated by area business people. The first prize is an overnight for two at our own Wolf Cove B & B. If you’ve not visited Rose Aikman’s retreat, you’re in for a treat! It’s relaxing and elegant. Breakfast and beautiful gardens complete the package.

The second prize is a $25 gift certificate from Rolandeau’s Restaurant in Auburn and the third, fourth and fifth prizes are $25 gift certificates from the Falls Country Gifts and Bears in Mechanic Falls. A division of Bryant Energy, the shop features unique gifts and collectibles.

Other prizes include gift certificates to Future Foods (in Mechanic Falls) and to Marco’s and Marois’ restaurants in Lewiston. More surprises are in store and the grand winners will be picked at our Annual Meeting on July 10. If you can’t make the meeting, no problem. You can still be a winner. Just remember to return your check and stubs no later than Monday, July 5.

We sincerely thank Chairpersons Ed Hinkley and Marion LaFlamme who sought out these prizes. Sincere thanks also to raffle-mavens Dick and Peg Harris who had tickets printed and who will conduct the raffle. More booklets are available; just call or write one of us (telephone numbers and addresses are on the last page). They will also be sold at the meeting. RSVP ASAP. Thanks!
