SPROUTING SIGNS

New signage appeared at several sites this summer, courtesy of Tripp Lake Improvement Association members and the Town of Poland.

Six "CHILDREN PLAYING" signs were attached to trees on Jordan Shore Drive and Garland Swamp Road by handywomen Jamie Rothfus and Wendy Webber . They were donated by Charlie and Nancy Rodway, Ed and Gae Hinkley, Ellie and George Kelley, Dick and Peg Harris and Babs and Mike Shapiro. (the 6th was a freebie from the company).

Richard Chick, Town Manager, agreed to erect four "PEDESTRIAN" signs to warn motorists of summer strollers and joggers. They were put at either end of Jordan Shore Drive and Garland Swamp Road. In addition, two "PERSONAL WATERCRAFT" signs were put in place at the boat landing and at the Public Beach, indicating that jets skis are prohibited by law on Tripp Lake.

A new, well-painted sign will be placed at the Public Beach next summer by the Town, indicating rules of the Beach. The current one is faded and too high for many to see.

We thank one and all for their generosity.
