The Tripp Lake Watershed signs
(six of them) were donated by Poland Spring Bottling Company several years
ago to make people more aware of the area they were entering.
Protecting Tripp and its surrounding land, keeping the waters clean
and the watershed green are most important.
Most signs have survived winters and plows, with some
assistance from the public. However,
one sign at the Public Beach has taken repeated beatings.
It was destroyed last Fall by trucks repairing Rt. 11 and
Poland Spring Bottling was kind enough to replace it in June. Three months later, over Labor Day weekend, an auto accident
claimed the new one .
The folks involved in the accident agreed to pay for
another and the Town of Poland will install it in the Spring. Many thanks to our new Highway foreman, Jeff Chappell,
and his crew for their willingness to help.
Twice battered watershed sign.
A new one's on the way.
