TLIA’S Third Annual Raffle, its primary fundraiser for 2001, is underway. Each member has been sent two raffle books costing $5 each; we urge everyone to buy both books or sell one to a friend. Proceeds will help defray the increased cost of testing our lake and to help underwrite the proposed long-range Lake Management Plan.

Area businesses and friends have donated the prizes, and to them we are grateful. The first prize is worth $75 towards an overnight at the lovely Wolf Cove B&B. Rose Aikman’s retreat is a gem. Elegant and relaxing, she offers feasts for all the senses…a bountiful breakfast and beautiful gardens.

New donors this year are DaVinci’s Restaurant in the Bates Mill Building in Lewiston ($35 gift certificate) and Poland Spring Water (5 cases of pure Poland water).

Other prizes include three$25 gift certificates from The Falls Country Gift Shop in Mechanic Falls, a $25 gift certificate from our favorite grocer, Future Foods in Mechanic Falls, a $25 gift certificate from Wal-Mart, and gift certificates from Marois and Marco’s Restaurants in Lewiston (delicious Greek and Italian food).

Other surprises are in store as well. The winners will be picked at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, July 14, 2001. You don’t have to attend to win…but we hope you will. Please return your check and stubs by Monday, July 9.
