POLAND SPRING MUSEUM OPENS
The Original Poland Spring Bottling Company Poland Spring Bottling Company has opened a museum highlighting the original spring from which the bottling facility grew to be the second largest in the world. More than $2.5 million was spent to renovate the pair of Victorian buildings known as the Spring House and the Bottling Plant, the spot from where the water was originally collected and bottled. The museum features memorabilia from the company and is part of the Preservation Park complex. Kristin Tardif, hydrologist and spokesman for the company and its parent, Perrier Group of America, was the spark that started restoration of these buildings. A restaurant, Sadie’s Place, is open to the public and serves fresh food at reasonable prices. It’s become a favorite eatery for residents of Poland, Lewiston-Auburn, New Gloucester and local businesses. Plan a visit to the complex this summer! |
