CALLING ALL BIRD WATCHERS
It’s time for our second
Bird-a-thon!
Last summer we wondered about what birds visited the
lake and organized this activity. This year, feel free to start your
list as soon as possible. Please send your total list to me at 154
Jordan Shore Drive by August 31st. I’ll name the winner and compile a
list of birds sighted for the Fall Newsletter. Don’t forget that a new
birdfeeder goes to the person who sees the most birds. ( Last year’s
winner, Harriet Doolittle, spotted 30 species.) Good luck.

JULY 4TH BOAT PARADE
Once again, Tina and Gerry
Judson, owners of the Hemlock’s Campground, will be having a July 4th
Boat Parade. It will leave from the Campgrounds at ll a.m. on
Monday, July 4, and we’re all invited to join in.
The boats, in a long line, circle
the lake to the cheers and admiration of camp
owners. If you’d like to join, just decorate your boat as festively as
possible with flags, buntings, balloons, music…to celebrate our Nation’s
birthday, and fall in line. It’s a great sight and lots of fun. Mark
your calendar now.
Any questions, call
the Judson’s at 998-2384. |
FAMILY PICNIC
Volunteers are needed to plan for
the Annual Family Picnic. The picnic is scheduled for August 7th
at Hemlock Campground.
Talk to Judy or Linda if you can
help with the organization of this popular event.

PROGRESSIVE DINNER PARTY
A number of people
have spoken to me about organizing a progressive dinner party. It would
consist of teams of four or five couples who would go from cabin to
cabin eating a course at each cabin. The individual teams would meet
and decide the menu and who would be responsible for what course.
Sometimes a wine tasting can be introduced with each course. The plan
can be simple or exravagant depending on what the team decides. The
dinner will be on Saturday, July 30th. Those who are
interested can sign up at the Annual Meeting. Any questions, give me a
call…..Judy King.
