IN MEMORIAMOur deepest sympathy to the following families on the loss of their loved ones this past winter and spring: …To the nieces and nephews of William Emmons Taylor, a longtime summer resident of Tripp Lake who passed away at his home in Mechanic Falls on Feb. 28. A graduate of Colby College, he served as sports editor of the Lewiston Daily Sun for 48 years. …To the family of "Gilly" Purdy, a longtime resident of Poland, fisherman and friend of Tripp Lake who passed away in April. He hunted, fished, knew secrets of the Maine woods and shared them with his friends and family. Gilly raised his two children, Shellie and Jimmy, after his wife’s untimely death. He was employed for many years at the Portland fisheries and lived the last few years at a Norway Senior Citizen Center. …To Scott Williams, our aquatic biologist/friend on the loss of his father in April. |
