Memoriam
Our
deepest sympathy to the family of Howard Kany of Poland
who passed away Nov. 4, 1998 after a brief illness.
| Howard
had been a reporter/photographer with the
Lewiston-Sun Journal for thirteen years. He also
did a segment called Maine Moments four times a
day on WLAM radio. He was a good friend to TLIA,
attending many of our annual meetings, reporting
and publicizing events. After
graduating from Wittenberg University with a
degree in journalism and history, he joined CBS
News in NYC and for 35 years was President of the
International News Dept. He leaves his wife
Marise of Kennebunk, three daughters, Carolyn,
Kathy and Alice, two brothers, John and Robert,
and six grandchildren. He will be missed.

Our
deepest sympathy to the family of David Given of Gray,
Me., who passed away in April, 1999. He and his wife,
Susan, had been long-time members of TLIA and had
reluctantly sold their camp, on the Fernald Road, last
year. They were the first to order a large aerial
photograph of the Lake they loved when we offered them
for sale. We shall miss him.
