FAMILY PICNIC AT BIG SUCCESS

Hemlock Campground was the scene of  this year’s Family Picnic.  Held on August 7 from 11:30-1:30, it was a great success, with over 50 people in attendance.  Folks who’d never visited the campground  had an opportunity to explore the site and check out the Demonstration Project completed by students at Poland Regional High School.

Everyone brought their own lunch and a potluck salad or dessert to be shared.  Cold drinks were provided as well as a shady area in which to sit.  Games were enjoyed by the younger set.  New people on the lake met “old timers”  and a good time was had by all.  Ruth and Pete Desjardins  with their daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Scott Hutchinson, chaired the event.

Eternity with Aunt Anna Lyon

The owners, Gerry and Tina Judson, were honored with the TLIA Environmental Award for their erosion control work at the campground and for their involvement with the Association.  Gerry is on the Board of Directors;  he and Tina have organized the Fourth of July Boat Parade for several years and have been stewards of the lake, cautioning boaters to clean weeds from their boats and motors.   We thank them for their generosity and help.
