WE WANT YOU!

No, it’s not a WW11 call to arms, just a need for more members to become involved.

At the last Board Meeting, the discussion centered around the President’s work. Since this will be my last year in that position, I was anxious to appoint a nominating committee to begin a search. I was told that I’ve accomplished too much and no one wants to follow. The solution is delegating some of my jobs (something which I thought I’d been doing) to more members. If new people take one responsible job each, the task of the President would become less daunting. (I don’t think it is…I relished it!). However, others may not see it in the same light.

Therefore, I’ve made a list of jobs which others can easily handle. The Board will be meeting soon to survey the list, make suggestions and make some calls. We hope you’ll consider becoming involved. Taking one job lightens the load considerably. You’ll meet new folks and make a difference.

Board members who’ve served five or more years are equally anxious to be replaced. They each have a forte, something they’ve chosen to work on, but are ready to move on. If you’d like to become a Board member and share in the planning of the Association’s activities, there are openings. Please call me or a member of the current board to serve. Everyone has the potential. It’s not hard. It’s fun and rewarding. We’re really a small, friendly group and get along well.

So…think about it. Say "sure" or "ok" when called. We’ll all benefit.
