BASS FISHING TOURNEY PLANNED FOR NEXT SUMMER
Kids have the best ideas!
|
|
Patrick Kneeland, Marjory and Joe’s grandson and the late Lew
Murray’s great-grandson, visited me one day last summer with his
vision of a fishing tournament next summer. He loves to fish and wanted
others to enjoy his favorite sport.. As he verbalized his ideas, new
ones kept rolling forth. He envisions a "catch and release"
tourney, using artificial lures, with prizes awarded to winners in
different age categories. Perhaps it could be held the same weekend as
our annual meeting with a continental breakfast served first or a
barbecue afterwards. I told him to contact Rick Lundstedt, our "On
the Water" writer to help develop his ideas.
He also addressed the group attending the Tripp Lake Picnic on August
18 and passed out informational sheets with his ideas. State laws will
be adhered to and he invites people of all ages to participate. He needs
volunteers, sponsors and perhaps donations to make this a reality.
