LAKE CLEANUP DRAWS SMALL BUT ENTHUSIASTIC GROUP

This year’s Annual Lake Cleanup, beginning at the Public Beach, drew seven workers, one of whom volunteered to lead next year’s campaign.  Howard Sherman volunteered to chair Cleanup 2005, will publicize it in the Newspaper and give prizes to all who participate.  Way to go, Howie!

Those meeting at the Beach on Sunday, July 11 at 8:30 a.m., came armed with rakes, plastic gloves, bags and a desire to make the Lake a little better place. They raked, picked up debris and filled about a dozen bags. The Gresiks also transported it to the dump. It should be noted that the Cleanup started at the Public Beach and continued all around the lake.

Those in attendance were Babs Shapiro and grandson, Drew Rothfus (who won an Eggcettera  ice-cream gift certificate from TLIA), George Kelley, Bob and Marie Gresik, Dell King and Howard Sherman. We thank all who participated and urge more of you to help out next year. The reward is seeing a cleaner environment….Babs Shapiro
