ANNUAL CLEANUP;  THE WAY TO GO

It’s so easy…so rewarding…and fun, to boot.  The Annual Cleanup, beginning at the Public Beach, gives TLIA members the opportunity to show the Town and its inhabitants that we care…about the way the Beach  and its environs look.  The cleanup is held on the Sunday morning following our Annual Meeting.

Over the years, we’ve urged the Town to help us in a number of ways…and they have.  New picnic tables,   porta potties, numerous rubbish pails and new signs have been installed.  We’ve buffered and beautified the area with plantings, added mulch to walking areas, paved walkways with stepping stones, added a Memorial Bench for extra seating and provided visitors with a permanent map of the lake.  A cleaner lake is a healthier one and we should be proud of our efforts.

From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 13,  this year’s Beach groupies raked and picked the area clean.  Among the helpers were newcomers Terri and  Howie Sherman, Jamie Rothfus and daughter Anna, George Kelley, Del King, Linda Laskey and Babs Shapiro.

Please plan on joining us for next year’s Annual Event.  We’ll all be better for having done so.
